Choosing varieties is the hardest part at the Tree & Twig Heirlooms display. |
In my view, Seedy Saturday was a tremendous success. The exchange tables flowed full of seeds throughout the day, the vendors were kept hopping with seed sales and requests for recommendations and advice, the speakers were engaging and informative... good times were had by all.
Did you attend a Seedy Saturday event? Did you score some Mo Farm seeds? Leave a comment and share your thoughts! What did you get and what are you most looking forward to in the 2011 gardening season?

Hi Kris
ReplyDeleteI got one of your packs of "Littlefields Special" dry bean and I'm SO excited to grow it. I looked it up on seeds.ca and it is sooo rare! I am hoping to save enough to send some to the seed bank. What do you think....is that the best thing to do? Anyhow, thanks for the seeds! I dropped off three packs of Homestead tomato, a real beauty of a heirloom. By the time we left, one had been snatched up. I hope whoever got them enjoys the tomato. It's a fantastic producer of perfect large red tomatoes.
happy gardening!
Ian
Hi Ian,
ReplyDeleteI'm so thrilled that you managed to grab a package of the rare beans! I loved growing them this past season, and look forward to giving them more love this year. I think that sending some to the seed bank is a great idea - maybe I'll do the same! For anyone else looking to save bean seeds, select a few plants that will keep growing past the best picking date for eating... let the pods mature and dry right on the vine, and grab the seeds when the pods begin to crack open. This is usually about 100-120 days.
Thanks for stopping by the blog, Ian - I look forward to hearing about your growing adventures this season! Cheers!
